Honda Accord A Family Favorite

Honda's Accord sedan has been recommended by Consumer Reports as one of the best family vehicles for 2010. 2011 looks to continue this tradition, with a newly revised interior and exterior, along with improved crash test ratings by the IIHS. The 2011 Accord also receives better gas mileage than previous models - 23 miles per gallon city, and 34 mpg on the highway. That's with its 4 cylinder, 177-horsepower engine.

The Toyota Camry, has battled Accord for top sales over the years. In 2010, the Camry beat out Accord to claim the top-selling-car spot, but Camry sales declined last year, while Accord increased by 282,530.

With additions such as the recent Accord Crosstour (a taller, five-door wagon in the style of a crossover) added another 28,000 in sales for 2010.

Accord offers a Special Edition sedan for 2011, including luxury options like leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, driver's seat two-way power lumbar and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The vehicle also adds suspension upgrades, making the vehicle handle more smoothly.

Accord has a higher starting retail price this year than some other Honda models, but you get what you pay for. Manufacturer's suggested retail price, including destination charge, is $21,930 for a base, The lowest-priced Accord sedan with automatic has a starting MSRP, including destination charge, of $22,730.

You can also check out a very sporty Accord coupe, with a starting retail price of $23,530 and 190-horses matted to a four cylinder. The higher-powered, 190-horsepower four cylinder is offered in the sedan, as well, and a 271-horsepower V6 is optional in both the Accord sedan and coupe.
