The 2011 Honda Odyssey is, in fact, only the second minivan named an IIHS Top Safety Pick, since the organization added the roof-strength requirement. Even more impressive: The new Honda Odyssey's roof is able to withstand a force greater than five times the minivan's weight. To put this into perspective, federal testing standards mandate that vehicle roofs be able to withstand 1.5 times the vehicles overall weight.
