Top Gear, a popular British TV show, says FCX Clarity is "the car of the future." Co-host James May made the trip to Los Angeles recently to drive "the most important car since the car was invented."
The hybrid Honda Insight is not the only sedan by the Japanese auto maker praised for its design and eco-friendly fuel efficiency.
May points out that Honda Clarity, is basically an electric car "without on-board batteries," generating its own electricity with an on-board fuel cell.
"So far," says May, "most electric cars have been appalling little plastic snot boxes that take all night to recharge and take half a minute to reach 40 (miles an hour; 64 kilometers an hour) and then run out of juice miles from anywhere. But when the Clarity runs out of juice, you just pull into a hydrogen refuel station."
EV's or "electric cars" have "seemed promising," adds May, "but they've never quite cut it. The Clarity is different. It fits the life we already have. The reason it is the car of the future is because it is just like the car of today."
Soon most, if not all, cars we drive will be some form of hybrid technology. You can get behind the wheel of a Honda Insight, or find out more about the Clarity, today at Diamond Honda of Puente Hills - 17525 E. Gale Ave. City of Industry, CA 91748.
